Through the Victorian Government’s Yes to International Students Fund, several universities and TAFEs are expanding Victoria’s educational partnership with China. SuniTAFE signed two MOUs to further the development of teaching staff through short-term visits and study programs, with Shanghai Food Science and Technology School and the Nanjing Commercial College.

Following the Victorian Premier’s trip to China in September, and the two signed MOUs, SuniTAFE has rolled out the partnership plan with their local Chinese partner institutions in Jiangsu, Shanghai and Sichuan.

Jiangsu:

  • In September 2025, two SuniTAFE trainers delivered a week-long hospitality micro-credential program to around 100 students at Nanjing Commercial College. As a result, 15 prospective students have either begun or are about to commence studies in Mildura.
  • In November 2025, one trainer delivered Horticulture micro-credential programs to 80 students at Liyang Polytechnic School in Changzhou and Jiangsu Vocational College of Agriculture and Forestry in Wuxi.

Shanghai and Sichuan:

  • In November 2025, a SuniTAFE trainer delivered micro-credential programs in Cyber Security and Internet of Things (IoT) to approximately 100 students at Shanghai Food Science and Technology School and Nanxi Vocational and Technical School in Yibing, Sichuan Province.

Gabriel Sun, Education Services Manager, supported SuniTAFE and delivered closing remarks at their micro-credential certificate award ceremony at Shanghai Food Science and Technology School.

Together with SuniTAFE, Study Melbourne promoted the benefits of studying in regional Victoria, including in localities such as Mildura.
