On 16 January, Study Melbourne hosted an industry briefing in Shanghai, bringing together key stakeholders in international and local education for an engaging and impactful dialogue.

Held at the new Vic House, the event facilitated practical dialogue between leading education agents, bilingual school counsellors, China-based representatives from our world-class Victorian universities, and our Study Melbourne team. The session centred on partnership: listening to frontline agent feedback on student aspirations and showcasing the latest course innovations and support ecosystems.

Commissioner Leigh Howard delivered opening remarks to highlight the role of VGTI China in supporting Victorian educational institutions on the global stage.

Education Services Manager Gabriel Sun provided an in-depth overview of Study Melbourne’s work, briefing agents and school counsellors on how we empower and support international students to thrive in Victoria.

This initiative reflects Study Melbourne's commitment to the entire student journey – from initial guidance to creating a welcoming and supportive environment in Victoria.

Convening these important conversations with partners reaffirms Victoria’s position as a world-class destination for global talent, underpinned by collaboration and the dedicated support of the Victorian Government.
