Study Melbourne and the Victorian Government Trade and Investment (VGTI) office in Malaysia, were pleased to support a recent high-level education delegation from Majlis Amanah Rakyat (MARA), a statutory agency under the Malaysian Ministry of Rural and Regional Development, Universiti Kuala Lumpur (UniKL) and Universiti Poly-Tech Malaysia (UPTM).

The delegation was in Melbourne on 16 February, visiting both Monash University and RMIT University to sign MOUs to enhance collaboration across research, global degree programs, academia and staff and student exchange. The delegation also visited the University of Melbourne to discuss collaboration opportunities in these areas.

Fiona Letos, Executive Director, Trade, Global Engagement, International Education and Migration, highlighted the Victorian Government’s support for international students in Victoria and backing international collaborations between overseas institutions with Victoria’s world-class education providers.

This fantastic outcome reinforces the strong bilateral education relationship between Victoria and Malaysia, which is built on long-standing transnational education partnerships, an extensive alumni diaspora and a significant Malaysian student population in Victoria of over 9,000 students.
