Strengthening Australia–Qatar Collaboration in Innovation and Education

Swinburne University’s inaugural partnership with Barzan University College was recently announced at an event in Doha, Qatar - the first program by a Victorian university in the Middle East. The event, which featured a keynote address by Professor Pascale Quester , Vice-Chancellor and President of Swinburne saw the participation of academics and professionals including Australian Ambassador Mr. Shane Flanagan, and Prof. Dr. Hassan Al-Derham , Vice-Chairman of BUC.

The courses offered include a Foundation Program, a Bachelor of Computer Science (Artificial Intelligence, Cyber Security, Software Development), a Bachelor of Business (Finance, Human Resource Management, Marketing, Management), a Bachelor of Engineering (Hons) - Civil Engineering and a Master of Cyber Security. This transnational education partnership is supported by the Victorian Government through the Yes to International Students Fund.

Ahead of the event, a strategic MoU was also signed between Barzan University College (BUC) and Vodafone Qatar to pave the way for deeper industry-academic collaboration focused on applied learning, innovation, and employability.
