On 14 January 2025, the Study Melbourne Predeparture Briefing brought together over 50 attendees in Nairobi. The event welcomed students preparing to commence their studies at Victorian universities and featured representatives from Deakin University, Deakin College, RMIT University, Australian Catholic University, Holmes Institute, Universal Higher Education and Torrens University. Students were equipped with essential information about life in Melbourne. They also had the opportunity to foster meaningful connections before their departure.

Students actively participated by exchanging contact details, discussing accommodation and travel plans, and coordinating meet-ups once they arrive in Melbourne. These interactions highlighted the value of building a supportive network before embarking on their journey, making the transition to a new country smoother and less daunting.

The presence of university representatives based in Kenya was invaluable, providing students with direct access to guidance and support. With Victoria remaining the top choice for Kenyan students and Melbourne recognised as the most liveable student city in Australia, the briefing was a testament to the region's appeal as an education destination and its commitment to student success.
