Diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) took centre stage at the Formula 1 Louis Vuitton Australian Grand Prix 2025!

Study Melbourne hosted a track-side panel discussion moderated by Professor Martin Bean CBE, former Vice Chancellor of RMIT University and a Formula 1 DEI champion.

The panellists included diversity and inclusion leader Rana Hussain, 2025 Young Australian of the Year and AI entrepreneur Aishwarya Kansakar and CEO of Monash Motorsport, Ananya Chari.

The panel discussion delved into the importance of DEI in STEM, elite sport and education, with a particular focus on advocating for women and people of colour. The panellists highlighted the significance of sports representing the broader community, with increased participation from women, girls and multicultural communities. They also shared valuable insights on encouraging more women and girls to pursue STEM careers.

As leaders in their respective fields, the panellists reinforced the crucial role all leaders play in cultivating and promoting diversity in their workplace and empowering emerging talent to fulfil their potential.

Guests from various industries and sectors were perfectly positioned to exchange ideas on advancing DEI in their organisations, all while experiencing the excitement of the F1.

Formula 1 has recently introduced a new Diversity and Inclusion Charter. It has been agreed upon in late 2024 by all 10 Formula 1 teams, Formula 1 and the governing body FIA - Fédération Internationale de l'Automobile.
