Study Melbourne and the Victorian Government Trade and Investment (VGTI) office in Southeast Asia have supported Victorian institutions in fostering collaboration with Indonesia through new education partnerships spanning gaming, creative industries, schools and hospitality:
Key developments include:
- A Memorandum of Understanding between RMIT University and Indonesia’s Ministry of Creative Economy will expand collaboration across gaming, film, animation, music, digital technology, cultural arts and design. This partnership supports knowledge exchange, capability building and stronger links between Victoria’s creative industries and Indonesia’s growing digital economy.
- In schools education, BPK PENABUR Bandung High School is partnering with Haileybury Australia and PPPK Petra High School to strengthen education quality through international curricula and expanded student and teacher exchange programs. This includes pathways to the Victorian Certificate of Education, helping to grow awareness of Victoria’s education offering and future tertiary study opportunities.
- Further collaboration is also taking shape in hospitality and skills training. Melbourne Polytechnic has launched a culinary campus in Bali through the International Hotel & Management School. The campus delivers Melbourne Polytechnic’s commercial cookery curriculum, enabling students to graduate with dual certification recognised locally and globally. This initiative supports workforce readiness, practical skills development and long-term education collaboration.
Victoria is committed to strengthening these collaborations not only in Indonesia, but across Southeast Asia and around the world. By leveraging our strengths as a leading education hub and dynamic, globally connected economy, we will continue to deepen regional ties, foster people-to-people links, and support emerging sectors.
