Study Melbourne recently collaborated with MASTEL, Indonesia's leading ICT industry association, to host a symposium in Jakarta on June 26.

The event featured two main sessions: one focused on “Building a Resilient Digital Indonesia: Integrating AI, Cybersecurity and Privacy”, and the other on “Enhancing Fintech Security with AI and Collaboration.” The aim was to support Indonesia’s digital initiatives by promoting discussions on secure and inclusive digital environments.

Over 150 participants from government, industry, education, and finance attended, highlighting Victorian expertise in AI, cybersecurity, and digital skills development. Six Victorian educational institutions and two tech companies shared insights on AI's role in improving threat detection, automating cybersecurity responses and promoting effective digital governance. Strong cybersecurity and data privacy, especially in fintech, were key topics throughout the discussions.

A highlight of the event was the signing of two agreements to boost skills development: one between Deakin University and Bandung Institute of Technology, and another between Box Hill Institute and SMK Telkom Malang. These collaborations enhance ties with Indonesia’s digital sector and strengthen Victoria’s reputation as a leader in digital skills and innovation in Southeast Asia.
