Students gathered for the Sub Saharan Africa training sessions

Study Melbourne organised a series of pre-departure briefings for students and comprehensive training sessions for student recruitment agents across Sub-Saharan Africa.

The pre-departure briefings provided valuable insights into what students can expect in their post-visa journey to Melbourne, ensuring a smooth and successful transition to life in Australia as they commence their studies at various Victorian education providers in Semester 2 and 3.

These briefings also offered an excellent opportunity for students to begin networking, forming friendships, exchanging contact information, and sharing stories.

The agent training sessions provided an excellent platform to showcase Melbourne as Australia’s Best Student City to key agents from the region. The training featured robust and meaningful discussions on the updated student visa application process, including the introduction of Genuine Student requirements and the necessary adjustments the industry must make to adopt these changes.

The training also equipped student recruitment agents with essential knowledge and tools to effectively represent Victorian educational institutions to prospective international students.

Key topics covered included:

  • An introduction to Victoria and Melbourne
  • Marketing and communication strategies
  • Educational excellence in Victoria’s higher education system
  • Student support and services
  • Work and career opportunities
  • Visa regulations and application processes.

Additionally, the training sessions facilitated valuable networking opportunities, allowing agents to discuss common challenges and share strategies for overcoming them. This initiative underscores Study Melbourne's commitment to fostering strong partnerships and ensuring that agents are well-prepared to promote Victorian education across Sub-Saharan Africa.

Study Melbourne can provide support for your stakeholder engagement activities in this region.
