Victorian universities continue to be recognised among the world's best, delivering outstanding results in both the Global Ranking of Academic Subjects 2026 and the Times Higher Education World University Rankings 2027.

Victorian universities ranked #1 in Australia across 24 subjects. Highlights include Monash University at #5 globally for Pharmacy and Pharmacological Sciences, Swinburne University at #8 for Automation & Control, and the University of Melbourne at #13 for Geography.
