The Study Melbourne Hub Ho Chi Minh City has celebrated its 3rd birthday.

Vietnamese and Victorian education partners gathered on Thursday, 12 December 2024 to celebrate. Education providers, alumni and students enjoyed the event. The Commissioner for Victoria to Southeast Asia, Naila Mazzucco spoke. She reflected on the Hub’s remarkable milestones and achievements over the past 3 years. The hub's unique role creating strong ties between Victoria and Vietnam was emphasised.

The Commissioner shared, 'This milestone is a testament to our commitment to supporting international students and fostering the Vietnam-Australia relationships through people-to-people links and strategic connections. The Hub is a vibrant space that helps students studying online, engages with Victorian alumni, and creates pathways to study in Victoria. It is also a venue for Victorian education providers and EdTech companies to hold meetings, workshops, and networking events.'

The celebration was also an opportunity to acknowledge and thank people for their support, including:

  • Australian and Vietnamese government
  • industry partners
  • education providers
  • alumni and students.

Trophies were presented to 9 Victorian institutions with the highest engagement with the Hub in 2024.

Since its launch in 2021, the Study Melbourne Hub Ho Chi Minh City has:

  • welcomed 15,000 visitors
  • collaborated with Victorian institutions to host 130 events
  • supported Australian alumni and industry stakeholders in delivering 110 initiatives.

The Hub is a vital bridge for education partnerships with Vietnam - a key source of international students. The Hub showcases Victoria’s commitment to supporting students both onshore and offshore.

A big shout-out to everyone who has supported the hub over the last 3 years. Looking forward to many more years!
