STEM SISTERS - Women of Colour in STEM Awards

Study Melbourne congratulates Ruwangi Fernando, Founder of STEM Sisters, for an outstanding night of celebration at the Women of Colour in STEM Awards.

Study Melbourne is proud to be part of the journey - Ruwangi is a former Study Melbourne Student Ambassador, and STEM Sisters is a previous grant recipient of the Study Melbourne Inclusion Program.

The Women of Colour in STEM Awards was coined the ‘STEM Oscars’, and brought together talented women from across Australia, from universities, industry and government.

Beyond the celebrations the Awards were a timely reminder that 15% of the STEM workforce are women, and a smaller portion of this are women of colour – a strong call to action for all leaders and organisations to advocate for inclusivity, to hold the door open for the many talented women in STEM who deserve to have a seat at the table.
