Academia forge strong ties at PhD open day in Da Nang

On 10 April 2025, Study Melbourne hosted the Melbourne for Research – PhD open day in Da Nang. The event attracted 70 Vietnamese university lecturers, government officials, working professionals and students from across Vietnam's central provinces.
Faculty members from 7 leading Victorian universities presented their PhD programs, scholarship offerings and support services in a hybrid format. Attendees had the opportunity for one-on-one consultations with university representatives. They also engaged with the Victorian Department of Education, to address any concerns about pursuing a PhD in Victoria.
The event also featured intensive workshops led by distinguished lecturers from Monash University, RMIT University, Deakin University and La Trobe University. These sessions highlighted the world-class research environments of these institutions and facilitated connections with Vietnamese researchers.
This program promotes Melbourne as a leading research and innovation city to the emerging central Vietnamese region, paving the way for enduring collaborations between Victoria and the region.
