Mistow: Hi, I'm Mistow, and today we are going to learn a little bit more about water safety from our wonderful Pete, who is the lifesaver from Lifesaving Victoria. So if an international student is coming to our Victorian Beach for the very first time, what are the things that they should consider?

Pete: The first thing you should consider are the conditions on that day, and you should look that up before you leave home. The second one is that you shouldn't be coming by yourself. You should always be coming to the beach to swim with a group of people. You need to be aware of the fact that you're in the sun a lot, so you need sun protection, you need hydration. And you also need to check the signage on that particular beach when you arrive, just so that you know about the local conditions.
