Study Melbourne Career Catalyst, in partnership with InternMatch, is a comprehensive employability and career development program that empowers international students to unleash their career potential as the next generation of global talent and business leaders in Victoria.

Study Melbourne Career Catalyst offers an exclusive suite of services for international students, including career coaching services, resume and LinkedIn workshops and premium networking events. All events and initiatives are free, inclusive, and designed to help international students develop their professional skills, connect with industry and employers to launch their careers.

The program's events and workshops are delivered online as well as in person at the Study Melbourne Hub and other Melbourne and regional locations.

Career development events (In-person)

These in-person events and workshops are hosted regularly at the Study Melbourne Hub and other locations, providing a convenient and comfortable environment for international students and alumni to come together. They can learn to build a network and develop skills to take them into their career.

Employability webinars and workshops (Online)

These employability webinars and online workshops give students the insights, practical tools and tips they need to best prepare for securing roles and commencing a career.

The series covers topics such as:

  • Creating a stand-out resume
  • Building a LinkedIn profile to expand their network
  • Preparing for successful job interviews
  • How networking can set up a career
  • Building a unique personal brand

Entering the job market as a new graduate could be a daunting process, particularly in a new country.

Career Catalyst’s career development services are designed to support international students and alumni on their journey, from searching for jobs and preparing job applications to networking with potential employers and getting ready for their first interview.

Right Start program: Free employment consultations

The free, confidential Right Start Program helps international students with questions about working in Victoria, such as: pre-employment paperwork, resumes, cover letters, interview preparation and job searching. Drop in to speak to the Migrant Workers Centre team at the Study Melbourne Hub, 17 Hardware Lane Melbourne. No appointment necessary. Every Wednesday and Friday, 1pm-5pm (last appointment at 4:15pm).
