The role of a Study Melbourne Ambassador is to create a rich and supportive community for current and prospective international students. As the voice of Victoria’s international student community, Ambassadors represent Study Melbourne at official functions and connect Study Melbourne to its international student community.

The Ambassador program also helps Study Melbourne to deliver relevant and high-quality programs and services and to amplify them across digital channels.

Eligibility

All current international students at least 18 years old are eligible to apply. You must be enrolled in an educational institution in Victoria until the end of the current academic year.

Applicants must have or be able to apply for a volunteer Working with Children Check (volunteer category).

Selection process

The Study Melbourne program normally runs from March until December each year. Applications open in December/January and shortlisted applicants are interviewed in February. (The timeline might vary year to year).

International students benefit from growing their networks and develop valuable leadership and interpersonal skills. While no financial remuneration is provided, Study Melbourne supports Ambassadors with development opportunities, including teamwork, communications, and leadership skills training in a professional environment.

Ambassadors will be able to:

  • Develop employability skills by participating in and co-designing Study Melbourne's leadership and employability programs with our team and delivery partners
  • Represent Study Melbourne at official events and functions to build your social and professional networks
  • Complete exclusive professional development training
  • Attend social and cultural events
  • Receive a gift bag with Study Melbourne merchandise and a Certificate of Completion
